Korea¡¯s Cultural Heritages on the UNESCO¡¯s World Cultural Heritage List
Gyeongju Historic Areas and Gochang, Hwasun, and Gangwha Dolmen Site were registered on the UNESCO¡¯s World Cultural Heritage list at the 24th World Heritage Committee held in Australia in 2000. Followed by Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram grotto, Jongmyo Royal Shrine, Tripitaka Koreana Woodblocks at Haeinsa Temple and their Depositories in 1995, and Changdeok Palace Complex and Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon in 1997, Korea now holds seven Heritages that were included in the UNESCO¡¯s World Cultural Heritages. |

Sungkyunkwan : This is educational institution in Joseon Dynasty. Its
purpose is to perform the worship rite in honor of Confucius as well to bring up high-ranking officials. Only noble men who passed Saewonsi & Jinsasi could enter Sungkyunkwan and they stay at dorm-Dongjae & Seojae. In the latest Joseon Dynasty, the function is minimized due state examination became unfair.
Youngrak Presbyterian Church : 27 believers from North Korea found this church as the name of Benada in 1945. In 1949, its name was changed into Youngrak Presbyterian Church. It had been a shelter of refugees during Korean War & founded Youngrak High School & Junior High School. Jungdong Church-Fist Methodist Church : This is the mother of all Korean Methodist Church. Its foundation was laid when Reverend Appenzeller founded Bethel Chapel in 1887 when he was involved in the education of young Koreans at Baeje School. The original red brick building, built in 1897 at the original site of Bethel Chapel, is still in use. There is in the churchyard a 50th- year monument set up to celebrate the history of the church¡¯s mission to Korea, along with a bust of Reverend Appenzeller.
Yoido Full Gospel Church : The history of this church is originated from Mr. M.C Rumcy & Heo Hong who worked at Salvation army in 1928. Main doctrine is to believe god as the Trinity & Coming again. In the 1960¡¯s, this church leads Pure Gospel Movement. This is the biggest church in Korea & they have many branch churches.
Fortune tellers¡¯ street at Miari : There are Many Fortune teller¡¯s houses in Miari, located in the northern part of Seoul. This is affected by folk belief. Many Korean, usually elderly visit them to hear their fortune of whole year in the beginning of the year.
Mt. Bukhan : This is situated in the northern part of Seoul, is beautiful throughout the year. Many shamans prey at this area for their own cultivation. Pax can see it if possible on the spot. |

Dosan Confusion school : Founded by the scholar Yi Toe-Gye in 14C as a Confucian academy, also commending a good view of lake Andong.
